“Life’s too short to drink bad wine”… I’m not too sure who said this, but it’s something that I definitely take to heart. Something that my sommelier and wine judge friend, Tinashe Nyamudoka certainly lives by two.
Tinashe is one of my wine mentors. A man with so much knowledge but never makes me feel like a novice. I have been introduced to many gems through his recommendations… including his own range of wines, Kumusha.
His 2018 Red Blend is my particular favourite. Bright, dark and red fruits tickle the nose and the freshness of the pomegranate and strawberries really comes through on the palate. It’s subtlety gives you a gripping finish.
I love that it’s not overbearing. I love how it develops as it breathes. I especially love that it is black owned. This is a lovely wine. Look for Kumusha on social media for orders and deliveries.
If ever you’re lucky enough to be at the world renowned, The Test Kitchen in Cape Town… then you will be in Tinashe’s very safe hands.
An ostrich dish or other gamey cuts would suit this well when dining out. At home, it also suits a hearty lamb stew dish.
