The 2021 Mercedes-AMG GLA 45

With its debut planned for the upcoming Geneva Motor ShowMercedes-AMG has now unveiled the 2021 edition of its GLA 45 crossover ahead of the event, and its specs are certainly impressive.

Carrying one of the most powerful turbo four-cylinder engines ever created, the S version of the car can push out a whopping 416 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque, although the trim will only be available in markets outside of the US. Stateside owners will have a slightly dampened but nonetheless hefty 382 horsepower and 354 pound-feet of torque. The engine is then coupled with an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission which brings power to all four wheels, creating a sturdy and consistent all-wheel-drive along with an improved and stiffened chassis.

Six different selectable drive modes allow the driver to find preferred settings for everything from the throttle and traction control to suspension, steering and even exhaust volume. Aside from its powertrain, the German automaker has also brought on other upgrades for the 2021 model. The front brakes are now equipped with 13.8-inch rotors and four-piston calipers while the rear consists of 13-inch rotors and single-piston calipers, while the suspension system utilizes MacPherson struts in the front with a new multi-link independent system for the back.
