Mercedes-Benz Introduces Electric G-Class Concept Arriving In 2025

The new Mercedes-Benz EQG bears the G-Class’ signature boxy design with the addition of futuristic glowing accents and 22-inch polished aluminum rims. A closer look reveals a Black Panel Grille illuminated by rounded LED blocks in a 3D effect and white illuminated bands that wrap around the exterior mirror housing and sides. Significant aesthetic changes are seen from the top view, revealing a gloss black roof cover with an unmistakable “G” placed in the center, as well as an LED strip searchlight at the front of the roof and a red light strip on the rear of the roof rack. The spare wheel cover at the back is replaced with an illuminated lockable box for storing charging cables and other travel accessories.

In terms of build, the EQG comes equipped with four individually controlled motors, an independent suspension on the front axle, a shiftable 2-speed gearbox delivering a dynamic off-road driving experience, and batteries integrated into the robust ladder frame body to ensure a low center of gravity. As all-electric vehicles deliver full power at the first revolution, the EQG provides considerable torque and controllability on steep terrain. “We want to inspire our customers to switch to electric mobility with convincing products. An icon like the G-Class fulfills this task perfectly,” emphasizes Markus Schäfer, Mercedes-Benz COO.
