We live in a world where watches do more than telling what time of the day it is and watches today give you more information about your body that you would get at the doctors office, is this a good thing or bad thing? I think its great, we live in a world of information and with the right information you can make better decisions. Health has become a focal center for alot of technology companies and I understand why – its also a big industry, because everyone at some point will get sick. Now when the poeple of Fitbit SA dropped off the Versa 3 at my place for me to review i was interested to see if this would fit into my lifestyle, also ive been using apple for the 17 years so this would be a first gadget that is non apple that I have so far.

Here are some of the findings with the new Fitbit Versa 3 

Wear & Care: Make sure your device feels comfortably secure, not too loose or too tight. When you’re not working out, wear your device a finger’s width above your wrist bone. While water-resistant, it is important to thoroughly dry your band after wearing it in the water or after sweating to avoid skin irritation. Wear it a bit tighter and higher on your wrist while exercising. It also doesn’t hurt to give your wrist rest and take your device off from time to time 

Use the Mindfulness tile: The Mindfulness section of the Fitbit app provides you with tools to help you reduce stress and deepen your mindfulness practice. Here you can set a weekly mindfulness goal, track your daily mindful minutes and mindful days, and see trends as you build your mindfulness practice. Later this year, you can also set up reminders to help you reach your goals. The Mindfulness tile is available to all Fitbit users. 

Enhanced heart rate: Versa 3 features our new PurePulse 2.0 technology, which uses an all-new multi-path heart rate sensor and improved algorithm to deliver our most advanced heart rate technology yet. 

Solid-state button: Versa 3 features a new solid-state sensor button that can be programmed for multiple functions. Make sure when you press it, you cover the entire button with your finger:

Single press will wake up the screen or return you to the clock face. Press and hold will open a shortcut that can be customized to open your favorite app, access music controls, or make a payment through Fitbit Pay. By default, it will open Amazon Alexa Built-in. Head to the Settings app on Versa 3 and tap on Shortcuts for customization options. Double press to quickly access your four favorite apps. You can choose which apps are included in the Settings app on Versa 3 and by tapping on Shortcuts. 

Charging your watch: With 6+ days of battery life,3 you won’t be charging Versa 3 often, but when you do, place it in the new, easy-to-use magnetic USB charger. The new fast charging feature will give you 24 hours of battery life in just 12 minutes. 

Set up Fitbit Pay:10 Make quick, secure payments while avoiding public surfaces by adding your credit card to Fitbit Pay. Open the Fitbit app, enter Account settings, select Versa 3, tap Wallet and follow the instructions to add your credit card. Access Fitbit Pay by swiping left from the clock face and opening the Wallet app. Customize the new solid-state button to open Fitbit Pay with a long press or by double pressing the button. 

Connect your Spotify account: The Spotify app allows Spotify Premium subscribers to control playback, change playlists, like songs, and easily switch music output right from their wrist.11 To use, open the Fitbit app, tap your profile image to enter Account settings, select Versa 3, tap the Apps tile, click on the Spotify app under the My Apps tab, select Settings, and then Log In. 

FEATURES COMING SOON Google Assistant:4 Coming in late 2020, Versa 3 users will have the ability to choose from either Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant as their preferred voice assistant, marking the first time a smartwatch offers a built-in choice between either assistant. 
Audible Replies: Amazon Alexa Built-in and Google Assistant will soon be able to respond back to you with audible replies through the built-in speaker on Versa 3. 
Answering calls and texts: The built-in speaker and microphone on Versa 3 will soon let you take calls directly from your wrist when your phone is nearby. Android users will even be able to respond to text messages on-the-go with voice-to-text commands.
