Apple Announces iPhone 13 With Redesigned Cameras

First up, the next-generation iPhone 13, along with the iPhone 13 Mini, will arrive in five new colors: pink, blue, midnight, starlight and (PRODUCT)RED. The iPhone 13 boasts a 6.1-inch screen size, while the Mini features a 5.4-inch screen size. With a 28% brighter screen, the new phone supports Dolby Vision, HDR10 and HLG. The new device employs an A15 Bionic chip, a six-core CPU with two high performance and four efficiency cores that are 50% faster than “the leading competition.”

The device’s new dual wide camera gathers 47% more light with a larger aperture. A new “cinematic mode” for video allows rack focusing, where focus transitions occur automatically as the device is able to anticipate subjects entering the frame.

The iPhone 13’s battery life is 2.5 hours longer than the iPhone 12, while the iPhone 13 Mini’s battery life is 1.5 hours longer than the previous generation. The phone offers better security, including a new MagSafe wallet that supports Find My, allowing users to locate the last location that their wallet was detached from their device. Storage ranges from 128GB to 512GB.

Meanwhile, Apple also introduced the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max, which come in four finishes: graphite, gold, silver and sierra blue. The front features a 20% smaller notch, the back features three new cameras and the interior is completely remodeled with a larger battery. Though most of Apple’s Pro products use a USB-C port, the iPhone 13 Pro still uses a lightning port.

The Pro model enlists the same new A15 Bionic chip, except with a five-core GPU, allowing for 50% faster graphics. The Super Retina XDR display features a 1,000 nits peak brightness with ProMotion variable refresh from 10Hz to 120 Hz. The cameras feature a new 77mm telephoto lens for three times optical zoom, as well as a 92% improvement in low light for its ultrawide camera. There’s a total six-times optical zoom range across all three cameras. The iPhone 13 Pro’s battery life is 1.5 hours longer than the previous generation, while the iPhone 13 Pro Max’s battery life can last 2.5 hours longer than the 12 Pro Max.
